Guests and volunteers learn by doing and share their talents with others. We offer activities appropriate for all ages: individuals and families, youth and community groups are welcome.

December
*11 Community Forestry Day, Be one of Elves: December days can be dark or bright, either way, we go outside to prune young conifers and deal with slash one way or another. In preparation for tree planting in the New Year (January-March), we also need to assess the survival of seedlings planted in past seasons. Indoor chores will include gear inventory, equipment and tool maintenance and sharpening, general cleaning in shop and office. If you have a favorite winter recipe for lunch, please bring that to share with our community in the forest.
A special “workshop” to create table decorations will take place of the usual tour at 2:pm.

We begin in the forest and bough orchard harvesting the greenery to assemble into table decorations you can take home. Create a few more that we will share with the community.
